Upgrading Tertiary Hospitals (Infrastructure Rs.368.20 crores)

Administrative and Financial sanction of Rs. 368.20 crores for Upgradation of 3 Tertiary care Hospitals has been obtained in GO (Ms) No: 576 Health and Family Welfare (EAP II - 1) Department dated 30.12.2019.- Contract agreement signed for the 3 Tertiary care Hospitals. The construction of the buildings commenced from March 2021.
- Foundation work is in progress in all three sites, after completion of foundation work, basement work will be centered. The Construction of tower block will be completed by September 2022.
- The expenditure done as on 16.07.2021 is Rs.48.25 of which claims sent to JICA is Rs.41.80 for all three sites.
Monitoring and evaluation
- Weekly Review meeting is conducted in TNUHP office regarding progress of Project activities.
- Daily status report on construction of building at the project sites is collected.
- Regular site visits by consultant team is also conducted. Supervisors are designated to each project hospital to supervise site progress on daily basis.
- Deans of the Project Hospitals conduct PERC meeting everything and Nodal Officer in respective hospital inspect the project every Thursday and send the minutes of the meeting to TNUHP.
Upgrading Tertiary Hospitals-Equipment (497.41 crore)
The equipment list for 3 Tertiary Hospitals has been worked out. Equipment will be procured through Tamil Nadu Medical Service Corporation after obtaining Government Orders.
Current status:
The draft list and specification have been prepared. The packaging of equipment is in process. The list and specification will be shared with TNMSC for vetting by 30.07.2021, and will be sent to for JICA concurrence by 15.08.2021. After obtaining JICA concurrence, it will be placed in SEC committee.
The list and specification of Ophthalmology equipment, CSSD, MGPS, MOT etc., are being worked out.
